Notes: Clive is the character his source song describes - a washed-up aging film actor in a toxic relationship with a younger man. In our system, Zayne is the younger man in question, and both of them fronted during abuse.

Jareth (he/they/fae)

Roles: amnesia manager, persecutor, memory holder, parental headmate
Amnesia level: Higher, controlled amnesia
Notes: Jareth was part of an innerworld narrative in which he was a stand-in for our outerworld abuser, who was our father. Currently, he represents my fears that I am an inadequate father to Cam.

Kenneth (he/they)
Source: "Kooks" (song)
Roles: parental headmate, caretaker, morality holder
Amnesia level: Lower, emotional
Notes: If Jareth is the worst possible outcome of me as a father, Kenneth is the reverse - me as a competent and caring father to my daughter. The song was written by Bowie for his own child, about how Bowie was looking forward to being his father.

Lenny (he/they)

Roles: addiction holder, depression holder, disability holder, dysregulator
Amnesia level: Lower, emotional
Notes: Since Low tends to be our go-to Bowie album when we're depressed, Lenny split as a holder for my more depressed, negative, and dysfunctional feelings and experiences. This includes our addiction and other disordered behaviors.

Zander (he/they)
Source: Pierrot (persona/character)
Roles: trauma holder, charge
Amnesia level: Higher
Notes: An amnesiac part that experienced the most intense part of the trauma, at least that we actually formed memories of. Their role was to be taken care of by headmates like Kenneth or Clive following being abused. He is more shy and somewhat less verbal.

Zayne (he/they/ze/fleur)

Amnesia level: Higher
Notes: An amnesiac part that was aware there was abuse but didn't experience the worst of it and didn't feel it was wrong. He and Clive are in an age gap relationship in headspace, where Zayne is the younger party.
